Hi folks,
I was investigating a rattle from under my car - 2005 built XKR-S Coupe.
I found that one of the exhaust clamps was broken and had worked its way down the pipe well away from where it should have been.
I think this may have been the source of the rattle but I don't know yet.
The Jaguar bracket is showing as available for back order. As well as being £25.
Is it something special? Is there any reason not to use a normal exhaust clamp?
Many thanks.
Andrew

Re: Is this bracket something special?
Hi Andrew, given that the "Jaguar Clamp" failed in service, we can deduce it is not that special and, personally, I would rather have a clamp in place than wait at Jaguar's pleasure for something that they don't manufacture and won't allow their third party supplier to advertise as available next day from the original source.
I don't care what Mr Glover said in his interview with the Editor in the much delayed April copy of the magazine - it is patently obvious that Jaguar's approach to not having spares available for us enthusiasts is placing more and more "newish / modern classics" at risk of having to be taken off the road due to parts unavailability and MoT failures as a consequence.
Had a member advise me today that his 2010 XK Portfolio is off the road due to MoT failure due to non availability of the Electronic Parking Brake switch - the lever on the centre console that puts the brake on / off. Ridiculous.

Thanks Jim.
I thought the same!
I will source a suitable wide clamp.
On the subject of parts, I fear it is not just JLR, and not just older vehicles.
A friend of mine recently had his 3 year old Skoda EV off the road for 3 months due to a failed battery cell!
