Hi

I have a 2003 XK8 and was wondering if someone could tell me when Jaguar started fitting the redesigned/uprated water pump as standard.

It appears from the parts list that the part number remained the same through to 2005.

If my memory serves me correctly your car has the later waterpump fitted from new ,

Hi Doug

The original (& 1st attempt to get it right) is a single casting with 5 bolts fixing to the engine.

The latest pump is a 2 part casting with extra bolts to hold the 2 parts together.

As far as I'm aware no 4.0 engine had the latest pump fitted in the factory but all 4.2 engines did.

New pumps from Jaguar are about £60.00 (including latest gasket)
