Coolant outlet duct leaking ?

help please.
got the Jag out the other day first time foe ages as I've not been going anywhere for some time and the coolant low light was on so had a look in the black header tank as this had happened before, but yes it was almost empty . So I had a good look around and found this.

does this look like it's the coolant outlet duct that is at fault ?
there is a lot of pinkness going on there.

On the evidence presented, the answer's probably, 'yes'. However, I'd want to catch it actually leaking, i.e. damp before condemning it. The pics appear only to show dried stains which could also occur when a leak is blown about from another source. Mike.

Hi fungus221.
It certainly looks like something is going on.
I was losing coolant and the leak wasn't obvious at first but I found it to be the water pump.
Might be worth checking that as well.
I would run the car up to temperature and see if you can pinpoint anything.

finaly managed to get the jag out to investigate the leak, yes it's coming from the outlet duct. I've not had the car up to tempature put after a couple of minits theres signs of bubbling from a top joint and fluiud around the section just underneth. So it's of to order the parts.
did i see somewhere club members can get a discount form some suppliers. Is there a code to use? or will I have to phone them?

If you look in the back inside cover of the Jaguar Enthusiast Magazine they have a list there.
I would think you'll have call them to get the discount.

Thank you all for your advice.
Had a shop around, SNG seems to be having a bit of trouble getting the discount sorted. After the forth chat I gave up so ended up with British Parts UK good prices for all the bits I wanted. (Got some brake bits just in case) and delivery was free and super fast. Well impressed!

All I have to do now is fit it

So at last got the time to have a go at fitting this new Coolant outlet duct.
not as difficult as I had thought. Managed to suck out most of the coolant so only made a small mess on the floor.
Turned out that the thermostat housing was leaking as the bolts had seized in to the threaded insert and worked loose. also the bleed pipe on the top was so brittle that it cracked up inside the rubber bit that connects it to the duct and it was also leaking from there.
the bottom fitting on top of the engine looks like it could have been leaking also.
so all in all a worth while job!!
