Engine Mountings to front subframe

Hi All, my first post so be gentle

I am about to embark on dropping front subframe to replace v-mounts and bushes (also check for corrosion to chassis rails).
My question to those that have any experience of this is, are the associated engine mounts likely to need replacing as well ?

Early cars used a simpler (cheaper) mounting which would probably be worth changing on a just-in-case basis. Later cars employed a more expensive (£153 + VAT) mounting, so twice that sum becomes a more daunting figure to stump up if you haven't noticed any issues with the existing mounts. It's possibly unhelpful but I suggest the answer to your question is down to, how much are you willing to spend to preserve the car? Mike.

Many thanks Mike, I’m assuming by early cars you mean the 4 as opposed to 4.2 ?

Hi Gary, appreciate you say it is your first post, but a fundamental piece of the puzzle in giving help or advice, is knowing what car you are having trouble with. You don't indicate what model of Jaguar you are hoping to receive advice on. At a minimum, you need to advise folks of the Model, the year, the engine size and any other pertinent details such as Coupe or Convertible. Otherwise, folks responding are having to guess from very limited information posted.

It would not be the first time that posts have been submitted into the wrong Model Section of the Forum.
