I have a ratttle coming from the back of the car and was told it would be the bottom bushes of the shocks. Having spend a considerable time changes the bushes, the rattle is still there!! I therefore assume that I may need new shocks, how can you tell if they are the problem as they looked OK are weren't leaking??? Thanks Jon

Hi Jon ,
Agree with Mike
BUT are you 100% sure it's the shock absorbers and not something simple like ........... Handbrake cable/linkage.......... rear silencer baffles.............. something loose in the boot or tooltray.................. or as was in the case of my car and found by accident whilst upgrading to jewel lamps ..... a loose bootlid striker plate
It had been causing a small rattle for three years ,
Hope this helps ,
Nik

Thanks, I am going to go through everything tomorrow night with the help of a friend. I have already removed everything from the boot and renewed the ARB drop links, shock bushes and all of the bushes in the cross frame. When I push down the rear end of the car and quickly release softly I can hear the noise, I think it might be something connect to the torsion bar, I will get to the bottom of it!!
