Refurbishing seven spoke 98 alloys?

Hi

Over the winter I would like to refurbish my alloy wheels. They are pretty bad, at the front in particular. I've seen kits on eBay but have heard that ordinary filler and paint/lacquer are just as good. Any thoughts? How do I know which colour paint to use?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Kevin ,
I Don't think the DIY kits will be as good as say Lepson's for refurbing your wheels , as for colour , either as close a match as possible to the Jaguar wheel silver or of course any colour you fancy ,
