Tyre noise

one of my front tyres makes a noise every revolution. It's not the discs rubbing and there is no noise from the wheel when the car is jacked up and the wheel is spun. It seems like the tyre is creaking at one point on the circumference. ATS have looked and listened but are lost as to what the problem is. If you walk along side the car at slow speed you can tell it's the tyre. Any ideas? The noise it a bit of an embaressment.

Hi ,
Are you 100% sure it's not the wheel bearing , a well known weak point and can be noisy at low speeds , if not try a little water/detergent mix around the inner and outer rim as it could be a squeeky tyre bead
Hopefully helpful ?

Another suggestion related to Nik's is that a very small amount of wheel bearing freeplay can allow the outer edge of a rusty disc to touch a caliper causing a momentary noise when cornering. Mike.
