My recently acquired 2008 XKR 4.2 convertible needs tyres….2 damaged and 2 too old! Wheels are 20 inch Sentas……looking at tyre comparison sites and Jaguar forums but finding it difficult to separate the proverbial wood from the trees! Current tyres are Dunlop SP Sport Max 285/30/ ZR20 99Y XL rears, and 255/35/R20 97Y XL fronts….all advice gratefully received! Thanks
Re: New tyres needed….
Hi, Dunlop Sport MAXX are the correct tyres for your XKR, but they must be in "J" Spec for Jaguar.
If you want to determine the range of tyres that best suit your car, although I would stick with the Sport MAXX, go to the Kwik Fit website and input your registration number. You don't have to buy your tyres from Kwik Fit, but I would be VERY wary about online sellers - there is a reason they are able to provide lower prices, none of them good. The Kwik Fit website will give you options on what is suitable and offer size information for the different section front and rear tyres, but you should confirm these sizes against the door jamb information, or your handbook. You will also see a range of prices.
Remember: the four patches of rubber on the tyres is all that stands between you and the horsepower under your right foot! Choose wisely.

Re: New tyres needed….
Thanks for the advice Jim….only looking online (not buying) as you suggest….I prefer to buy physical tyres locally where I can talk to the supplier with follow-up available if required….
