xk8 Tyre size

Hello all,
I have checked the various topics on tyres but cannot find exactly my issue.

I have 245/45R18 on the front and 255/45R18 on the rear. The tyre store states for my reg. I should have 245/40R18 front & rear, as I do not have the car book I cannot see what is specified originally.

Are the wheel rims different sizes, or can I fit the same front & rear? Also what is the recommended size for both?

The standard tyre sizes for the 18" wheels are those you have fitted already, i.e. 245/45x18 front and 255/45x18 rear. 40 section tyres were only ever fitted to XK8s with 19" wheels which is where the confusion may have occurred. Mike.

Thanks Mike, I had the wheels off over the weekend and 8J on front with 9J on rear, so confirms it.
