DSC system fault

Postby philip660 » Wed Aug 28, 2024 9:52 am

Hi. I have a 2002 XKR which for some time has intermittently shown the above fault on the dash. More recently the ABS warning light also came on. The ABS fault was cured with the installation of a new sensor by my local garage who say the DSC fault needs a YAW sensor located under the centre console. These are £450 plus and non returnable! I have searched ebay and there are similar age sensors for around 20 quid, but not corresponding to the range of my vin number. Can anyone confirm that it is the YAW sensor and is there a cheaper alternative or am I going to have to bite the bullet? Thanks Phil

A yaw sensor failure diagnosis sounds very specific. If it has been obtained from a professional diagnostic system without any other failure codes being flagged, it is likely to be correct. However, if other diagnostic codes are also present, it may not be the answer since some faults throw up multiple codes, some of which are not individually correct. Mike.

Thanks Mike. My understanding is that since the ABS sensor was changed, there is only the one fault showing, but I will check with the garage..
