AIR HAWK PRO TYRE INFLATOR

Postby DougX » Wed May 13, 2020 2:28 pm

Anyone that has BBS Detroit split rim alloys fitted to their XK8/R may have come across a problem, as I did, with the Air Hawk Pro Tyre inflator. The problem is that the attachment lead on the AH Pro doesn't fit the valve that you insert into the wheel. I went to my local alloy wheel centre and asked them for advice. They suggested that they could fit protruding short values that would fit the AH Pro but obviously would stand out on the wheel. The suggested cost would be £15 per wheel. I was in two minds to do this, but thought there had to be a better way. On further research I discovered the Oxford Motorcycle/bike valve access tool which retails on e-bay for £9.99 inc. postage. What a find! This sorted the problem at a fraction of the cost that my local alloy wheel centre suggested! So if you have a Air Hawk Pro or are thinking about purchasing this bit of kit, make sure you order the Oxford Motorcycle/bike valve access tool too. Well worth it.
