Front Brakes
Moderators:MarkX, mike020150
Does anyone have any experience changing the front rotors & pads (1998 XK8 4.0) I have bought a set of ECB's as replacements and I'm considering doing them myself. I have experience on other vehicle types but first time on the XK8 - any pitfalls I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think you have to remove the ABS nut to get to the rotors/discs and this requires specialist equipment.
I upgraded to EBC dimpled/grooved discs and greenstuff pads all around 2 years ago and noticed an immediate (circa 20%) braking improvement. As I hardly use my brakes the pads still have in excess of 75% left on them after 22k miles
As I paid a specialist to replace all of my wheel bearings back in 05 they fitted the new discs/pads/shields at no extra cost...as they had to take em all off anyway...result!
Strangely I've learnt that EBC don't recommend Green pads for cars over 200BHP...so it's weird that they should sell a set to fit
I'm currently trying to source a set of SS brake lines for my stock calipers and have been advised that the goodrich ones will fit...we shall see.
