I seem to have developed that problem where the fuel will only go into the tank very slowly.
I think its been mentioned before in the forum but I cant see it now. Anyone know what the cause is and how to fix?
Thanks
Steve

Re: Slow fuel filling
Hi Steve, it is generally not the fault of the car but the specific petrol pump on the forecourt. I believe this issue was covered in the magazine column, but it's a few years since it was written up.
The breather filler for the X150, I assume it is an X150 you are referring to, runs from the fuel tank up to the filler neck, terminating in the funnel shaped section below the misfuelling device. Ensure you push the pump nozzle into the filler neck as far as possible when you visit the fuel station. This allows the breather pipe to function correctly.
Be aware that the back pressure choke on most forecourt fuel pumps is set very low to avoid fuel spillage onto the forecourt and across folks paintwork. If the problem persists, please report the fact to the station attendant in order that they might log it as a fault for adjustment at the next maintenance cycle.
Appreciate it can be frustrating, especially if your choice of fuel pumps is limited at your location, but try different pumps and report back the findings.

Re: Slow fuel filling
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. It happend a couple of times in different forecourts last week. Including one I use regularly that is normally OK.
I'll try and make sure I put it right in next time and see how it goes.
Thanks

Re: Slow fuel filling
Having done a tour of france recently and filled up about 6 times, there was no problem.
So looks like its more of a problem with certain filling stations than the car itself.
