Elbow connector to fuel filter 2006 X150

Fuel is leaking from this connector which seems to have lost tension in the spring loaded clip. If I pull down on the elbow it separates from the filter pipe. Enquiries with parts suppliers suggest you have to replace the complete pipe between the filter and the engine. Has anyone experienced this and solved the problem. Is the elbow connector replaceable.

Is it possible that a recently changed fuel filter could be to blame, e.g. with an incorrect sized boss?

Jaguar only supplies pipes complete with their quick release couplings which are designed to cope with the system's 55psi working pressure. The pipes should 'click' into position as they engage and resist a gentle tug apart.

Even if you could find a hydraulic specialist willing and able to replace only the coupling, it would still be necessary to remove the pipe from the car to change it. Hence, for safety's sake, it's probably best to resign yourself to replacing the complete pipe with either a new or second hand one if the pipe coupling has failed. Mike.
