Fuel treatment trio

I bought my 8 year old XK 4.2 from a Jaguar dealer a year ago, and have had an excellent year with it. It is now due its first service in my possession and I am arranging it at that dealer's. I have been offered a "fuel treatment trio" for £69.99. This is supposed to deal with carbon build up and improve MPG. It carries a "Free engine protection plan ". Does anyone have any experience of this and is it worthwhile? Thanks

It is probably something like Terraclean .
Apparently it can " restore mpg, reduce emissions, regain performance "
It seems a bit like a snake oil situation although Quentin Wilson and Edd China endorse it plus people are reporting lower emissions at mot time.

I think if you go ahead with this then a suitable test would be for you to get the dealer to run an analysis on the xk emissions.....then do the treatment and then run the test again.
If you can stay and watch this happening plus get a result at the end of it that would be worth the money !

Your reasoning, to the dealer, is for them to justify their recommendation to you ..... If they can't then they don't believe in it themselves, do they?

Thank you very much for your post. The product is from BG. I have just had my XK serviced and agreed to have this treatment. The service was carried out at Pentland Jaguar in Perth. They are part of the John Clark group, a multi franchise large dealership in Scotland, and offer this treatment across all of their marques. In fairness they did give me some reasonable info about the product. So we'll just have to see what happens with the car now!

Did it have an MoT at the same time as the service?
Just wondered if you are able to check the emissions, it would be really interesting to see what this treatment does.....
