Removal of Door Lock

How do you remove the plastic clip at the back of the door lock without it breaking off? Does anyone have a copy of the relevant page in the workshop manual 501-14? Thank you

It would probably help jog someone's memory if you could start by confirming which model (X100 or X150) you are working on and since the door contains several clips, try posting a picture of the specific clip you are struggling with. It is more than likely that Jaguar's manuals will simply say, 'remove clip' or something similar. Typically, they are not very explicit. Eg removing the latch from an X100, 'Where fitted, remove door lock security shield. Remove bolt securing lock barrel operating rod security shield. Release shield from spring clip at rear and remove shield from door'. Mike.

Apologies for the delay it is an X100 (XK8/XKR), here is a cutout showing where the plastic clip is

It's difficult to describe. The two operating rods have lower connectors that are attached differently to the latch. One clasps the rod higher up and first the upper end has to be prised past the rod and then pivoted down to separate it. The other rod is pulled in a downwards direction to release it. Mike.

Thank you, found that the plastic clip needs the black plastic part to be pulled down and the rod just pops out. You do not need to prise the clip from the lock. All I now need to do is find where to get a new microswitch
