more XK8 rust

I seem to remember many years ago somebody advising that rust on the windscreen pillars (where they disappear below the bonnet) is a huge problem to rectify on XK8's. Has anybody any experience on this? I thought most of these panels were bolt on.

The comment was probably of the self-fulfilling variety, i.e. if a car has serious rust in its basic shell rather than just on its outer panels, the rust and the shell are likely to have gone too far for economic repair. In my experience, I don't think the XK8 is especially liable to rust at the base of its screen pillars. Mike.

Hello Mike,
mine being the exception of course. Doesn't look too serious but nevertheless 1996 and has just had more work (rust) carried out on the rear panels above the bumper. Fingers crossed
