I just lifted the rubber mat in the drivers side which I use in winter to find the carpet below sodden with visible water. Not sure where it is from but suspect the rubber door seal. The black trim inside is wet and there seems evidence of water getting in right at the front above the fuse box. Has anyone experienced this? Is the rubber door seal easily replaced?? Any advice welcome.

Re: Leaking door seal?
Hi Phil,
Try examining the seal carefully. There is an inbuilt drain hole part way down it. The hole can become blocked with muck and that allows the water to build up and tip inside the car instead of being fed to the outside. If the seal hasn't deteriorated too badly, cleaning the drain can work wonders. Mike.

Hi Mike
I have had a look and the drain hole seems to be gaping a bit on the drivers side. Also it seems at the bottom of the rubber it is not attached which is where you can see the water stain. Can this be glued back up do you think?? When I poured water into the drain hole most of it went outside although some came through where the stain is.
Cheers

Re: Leaking door seal?
Hi Phil,
It's always worth trying to glue it first but I'd suspect a replacement seal is the only real answer. They are complicated high quality seals but inevitably, the driver's side seal takes most bashing. I'd be tempted to take out a bank loan (only joking!), bite the bullet and if they are still available, buy a genuine replacement. Mike.

Thanks Mike
I will try to dry it out and glue it first if not as you suggest I could raid the Bank of England and look to buy a genuine replacement.
Thanks for the advice

An old thread I know, but did you ever manage to sort this Phil, and if so did it turn out to be the door seal? Thanks Mike
