I'm planning to start repairing the bubbling paint on my window finishers (front windscreen and rear window). I also need to give the rear quarter finishers some attention. I understand the tricky bit with these are the clips which tend to break at the point of removal. So I'm going to get some new ones on standby for when I take the finishers off, but I don't know how many I need, or how to go about removing the finishers, and I don't want to answer either question by just pulling!
Would anyone be able to explain the process for each finisher (front, back and rear quarter) and tell me how many clips each requires please?
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Glazing clips and finishers
Take off the wipers and the plenum cover. Remove the upper trim finisher from its clip using a trim removal tool. Then, using the same type of tool, work your way along the A pillar releasing the trim from each of its clips. There are a dozen of one size and two others. Similarly, the rear window trim is held by 18 clips. The rear 1/4 light trims are also held by the same type of clips. Jaguar's parts system lists 5 per side but the workshop manual suggests there may be more. The prices of these clips are approximately £5 each so it pays to lever carefully! Mike.

One more question - should I be levering from above/outside or below/inside? (Does it make any difference?)
Thanks

That's a matter of personal preference. Personally, I always try to ensure any ham-fistedness of my part is not in the most obviously visible places and go from there. Mike.

Ah, I've understood now! I hadn't appreciated that the finishers are secured effectively by a bead which is held by friction into a U-shaped channel. I found this video which really helped (in case useful to anyone else!): https://youtu.be/OujyT-ZQS_w
