Boot stuck shut

There is another Electric Connection in the Engine Bay.
It connects the Starter Motor & Alternator to the +ve of the Battery via a 500A fuse within the High Power Protection Module in the Boot.
You should be able to get to this Cable & Connectors from underneath the car
Be careful though as if you connect to the 2nd connector (smaller wire) on the Starter Motor you will trigger the Starter Motor (assuming you are touching both connectors at the same time) which in turn will start to rotate the Engine & ancillary parts via the Serpentine Belt!

Allan's suggestion sounds promising. I have the wiring diagram and I'm looking at fig. 03.1. So I connect +ve to the thicker cable on the starter motor and any bare metal for -ve? Can I use a charger or should it be a booster battery?

Hi Andrew, best to use a battery or boost box - chargers can be a bit temperamental in these circumstances. REMEMBER: you are only trying to energise the circuits, do not attempt anything other than unlocking boot / door with this electrical connection and disconnect immediately after gaining access to the boot and thereby allowing a connection direct to the battery for any follow up.

Assuming we have the same Electrical Manual, P20 shows the Earth Stud locations. It doesn't say where they are but I would expect that they are more than likely accessible from the top & not from underneath.
P17 shows the Main Power Distribution.
I would expect that the Engine & anything metal (directly) connected to the Engine would be a suitable Ground.
The probability is that the Suspension System Components would be isolated due to the suspension bushes.

I'm in! Couldn't get to the starter motor but I was able to reach the +ve terminal on the alternator once I'd removed the cooling duct. It took a few tries to find a good earth but the alarm blasting my ears was the giveaway. The doors unlocked and the button on the dash popped the boot. The battery's now on charge but I suspect it'll be replaced tomorrow. Then I'll investigate the boot lock.
