Seat release rattle

The plastic end of my seat release lever is loose and rattles constantly.
I have tried to lever it off to attempt to pack it but am concerned that it may break. Does anyone know how to take it off or alternatively have a cure?

I assume it's the squab tilt knob for accessing the rear that is rattling. I haven't had cause to remove one but Jaguar's instructions are to ease open the stem of the knob using a small flat bladed screwdriver to enable the knob to clear the seat lever tang. Mike.
