Hello,
With the weather being so nice lately we have been driving round with the windows open. But something seems to be wrong with how the window glass is held in place while retracted inside the driver's door, because it makes a horrible "bang" when I shut the drivers door, with window open. The passenger side is fine, it shuts quietly whether window is up or down. And the driver's side is fine if the window is wound up.
The sound is horribly like glass hitting metal. I suspect that whatever holds the window glass securely in place down inside the driver's door is broken or mis-aligned. Even if I try to shut the door very gently it still does it.
Has anyone else experienced this? And do you have any advice on simple ways to fix it please? Or is it something with which to visit our uncle Arthur at Preston Jag centre.
Thanks!
Lisa

Hi,
Thanks for the replies, sorry I've been slow in replying - my PC took to making a "blue screen of death" protest every time I tried to get online!
The good news is that the door glass bang is fixed now. My local jag specialist investigated for me while we were in for MOT prep. Apparently the buffers that hold the glass in place inside the door were missing. So the garage manfactured me some new buffers & fitted them. Nice & quiet door closing ever since!
Best wishes,
Lisa
