I have noticed today today that the passenger footwell of my 06 XK is very wet, I have removed the soft panel from above the footwell, which is also soaked, and water is dripping steadily out of the back of a fan housing located there. Any helpful tips or ideas would be gratefully received

Re: Wet passenger footwell
The chances are that the problem could be caused by a blocked 'duck's bill' which is the aircon unit drain (evaporator drain tube - £5.26 + VAT). If it is the aircon drain and not a windscreen/door seal leak, the bad news is that replacing the rubber drain is a mammoth task. Early XKs (2006 onwards) had a drain which is prone to gumming up. Later cars had a slightly modified version which seems to reduce the problem. If you search the archive of Jaguar Enthusiast magazines, you will find several references to the problem and how to change the duct. Clearing it temporarily has been achieved by using a piece of carefully bent wire but working blind from under the bonnet, the drain is very difficult to reach. The only guaranteed cure is to replace the rubber drain which needs either most of the interior of the car stripping out or the gearbox removing to gain access to it. Surprisingly, the latter method is probably quicker and hence cheaper. Mike.

Theoretically if it is a/c drain you should know by looking underneath with engine running, as you will see the extracted moisture dripping onto the ground, if that's happening then presumably more likely windscreen drain, which hopefully would be easier to deal with. Always a pain this problem.

Thank you gentleman for your info. As of yesterday the car is with my son in law,a qualified mechanic. The fault finding process begins.... so fingers crossed that it's the cheaper of the two options!
