5.0 ZF6HP28 gear box - manufacturers oil change video

I have had my 2011 XK 5.0 18 months now and it has done 46k, to my knowledge it has never had the gearbox oil changed so is on the to do list.

Below is an excellent instructional video below by ZF on how to change the oil, the video is not an XK but it does cover the 5.0 ZF6HP28 gearbox with the plastic tray and filter:

So much for sealed for life when the manufacture releases an instructional video and recommends the change on mileage between 50,000 and 75,000 or 8 years !

I also have a ZF specialist only a few miles from me near Cannock and just had this reply:

" It is recommended to replace the oil and Filter - ZF Nottingham suggest every 40,000 miles, also there is an electrical connector that are prone for weeping, that is also replaced. To service the transmission which includes the filter - which is part of the plastic sump, electrical connector, transmission fluid and calibrate gear shifts including labour is £320.00+vat, it takes 2.5 hours.
