Primary & secondary timing chains, tensioners and guides

Postby wsp77 » Wed Mar 21, 2007 4:40 pm

Hi everyone

I am considering replacing the tensioners and chains following a rattle on initial start up. I have contacted my main dealer for a quote. To have the following work completed - primary & secondary timing chains, the latest tensioners and guides - I have been quoted £1146 all in with my allegiance discount.

Can anyone give me some feedback on this price? This seems reasonable to me, any thoughts or opinions would be welcome please.

Many thanks,

That doesn't sound like a bad price from a main dealer. Since you aren't far away, why not ask Dave Marks (at Nottingham) for a price? Mike.

Based on my own experience (David Marks did my secondary tensioners 18 months ago) and feedback on this subject on other forums, the price seems about right.
You should now be able to sleep soundly and enjoy your P&J even more :D
All you need to get changed to the latest type is the waterpump (and while you are at it the thermostat) and you should be in good shape for quite a few years

That price you've been quoted sounds right, had all mine done at Guy Salmons, Thames Ditton for £1100 last year.
Remember those that gave their todays for your tomorrows.
