Battery Replacement

I have a 2005 XK8 convertible and may need to replace the battery as on occasions seem to be getting dash warnings for things that are not at fault, i.e. low fuel (had a full tank), low water coolant (well full), etc. It has been suggested that the battery could be the cause of this. I have now connected the car battery to my CTEK charger in the hope that I can retrieve the issues with the battery. However, if this fails I want to get a battery that will last as long as the exisiting one i.e. 9 years or more!!! and don't want to buy something that will last 5 minutes. Any suggestions? Also, I have read on other forums that it may not be a case of taking the original one off and putting another on. Obviously I will have to reset the radio, but is there anything else that may need attention?
Something else I have noticed on the other forums is a suggestion of a venting kit?? Again, has anyone any knowledge what this relates to? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Hi Doug,

Your existing battery should already have a vent tube fitted as standard. It vents any gases below the boot floor. Due to its enclosed location in the boot, make sure any battery you buy has a suitable hole to attach the vent tube. Both the radio and the window drop will have to be reset after fitting the new battery. Mike.

if you want to match the original battery , then there is only one place to go to be honest

they sell original spec batteries, that will fit , and at around £120 isn't that expensive considering what your driving,

Thanks for the comments. I will contact my Jaguar dealer for a price. I already get 10% discount and may be able to obtain more, so if I can get one for £100 I wil be more than happy.
