I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED AN EX WESTMINSTER POLICE RANGE ROVER VERY CHEAPLY WITH A VIEW TO UPDATING IT FROM ITS 2004 SPEC TO SOMETHING A LITTLE LATER
I PURCHASED FROM EBAY A RATHER LOVELY FULL BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR INCLUDING REAR SEATS FRONT SEATS AND DOOR CARDS. FEELING RATHER PLEASED WITH MYSELF I FITTED BOTH THE BACK SEATS AND DOOR CARDS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM EVERYTHING SWAPPED OVER EASILY INCLUDING THE ELECTRICS FOR THE WINDOWS LOCKS E.T.C.
WHEN I CAME TO SWAPPING OUT THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SEATS I REALIZED THEY WERE VERY DIFFERENT NOT ONLY ARE THE RUNNERS IN A DIFFERENT PLACE (THIS I CAN SORT )BUT THE ELECTRICS DO NOT MATCH . I NEED SOME ONE WHO CAN MARRY THE TWO TOGETHER BEFORE THE WIFE FINDS OUT I HAVE WASTED £1,500 ON TWO LOVELY LEATHER ARMCHAIRS .I HAVE ALL READY CONSULTED AN AUTO UPHOLSTER WITH A VIEW TO SWAPPING OVER THE CUSHIONS FROM THE NEW SEAT TO THE OLD , BUT THIS TURNS OUT TO BE A NO NO
WHAT I NEED IS A SOME ONE HOPEFULLY IN THE MIDLANDS AREA WHO HAS EXPERIENCE WITH RANGE ROVER OR JAGUAR ELECTRICS .JUST TO ADD A LITTLE MORE SPICE TO MY PLIGHT THE 2004 RANGE ROVER WAS MADE BY B.M.W ,HOWEVER MOST OF THE MOTORS ARE EITHER JAGUAR OR LANDROVER MADE HOPE YOU KNOW SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP OR A REASONABLY PRICED B+B REGARDS DAVID NOAKES

Just because Jaguar and Landrover belong to the same company and use some common components don't expect the cars' electrical architectures to be the same. These days, different models and even different years of models can be very different in the way the electronics operate. For example, there were major differences between the early and late 4 litre XK8s and some components are not interchangeable. Hence, you may be asking a lot of any auto electrician.

I would advise finding a local Landrover specialist willing to tackle your task since the important issue is how your Landrover sends commands around its electronic network. The seat control modules (even if the same as Jaguar modules) would need programming to suit the Landrover system. Mike.
