Windows/Roof

Does anyone know why when I close the doors the windows don't go back up to the top always, this happens normally when the roof is up but also occassionally when the roof is down. This happens even when the windows are fully up before.

If your battery is starting to get a bit low, the windows will lose their 'memory'. To reprogram them, with the door closed, press and hold the down button until it is all the way down, but do not release the switch for approx 2 seconds (you will hear a slight click as the cutout knocks in).

Do the same with the window moving up till fully closed, and after a few seconds you will hear a faint click again. Repeat for the other door, and you are sorted.

Thanks for the advice Damian . I've just experienced the same problem with my '99 convertible XK8 . Left garaged as usual over the last few ,particularly cold , weeks . Stared ok , but drivers window would not return to closed , just went lower each time I opened and closed the door . Passenger side was fine . Anyway , tried your fix , and voila , perfect :D
