Today I have fitted 'Design XKR's HID kit, and the results are stunning...

The standard bulbs are like candles in comparison - the road is bathed in blue-white light. The kit is excellent & I can recommend it if you feel , like I did that the standard lighting is very poor by today's standards.

Its designed to fit within the access port of the headlamp unit so you have no external wiring. The input fittings for the HID are the terminals that you take off the standard headlamp bulb itself. Manoevering the wires inside the headlight unit is a bit fiddly but after having a spent a couple of hours on the first one (with a couple of calls to D-XKR's Kev) the second one was done in about 45 mins.

Sounds good. All we need now is a definitive way of preventing the headlights from misting and we will have cracked (pardon the pun) all the issues stemming from XK8 headlights. Mike.
