As well as my Jag, I also have a Stag, and one of the standard changes one can make is to replace the 'Stag' badges on the rear side near the bumper with a red reflector , backlit as per the American style....

Have any of you guys come across the option to replace the orange reflector in the XK rear side valance with an illuminated red reflector ?

Cheers

Hi Malc ,
Yes fitting red illuminated reflectors to the rear is no problem , I believe British Jag Parts were selling them for £5 each and the wiring is already in position so they are "Plug & Play" ,

Hopefully this is helpful ,

Thanks for this. I did find them on Bristish Jag parts, but their guy on the phone said I should take care regarding what's legal here in the UK, suggesting that even if they light up or not, they should be orange , and not red......

Anyone any experiences one way or the other ?

Cheers

Hi Malc ,
Pretty sure that it's legal to have the rear ones red and illuminated and the front ones amber/orange and illuminated , the side repeaters can be clear lenses as long as they illuminate amber/orange (ie they have orange bulbs ) ,

Helpful :?: ,

Hi Malc

I've had red running lights on the rear of my car for a couple of years. No problems regarding MOT or the boys in blue.

Hi Malc
From the rear of a vehical all lights except the number plate lamps should be red, from the front white, from the side orange/amber. look at your HGV's, Caravans etc, the extra lamps (up high) on the sides at the rear are double lenses red showing to the rear and white showing to the front, all lamps along the sides are amber. the boys in blue prob wont bother unless they want an excuse to stop you.
I removed all four of mine drilled out the filled holes fitted bulb holders and now they light up amber and looks good in the dark, and is legal.
cheers
