Can anyone recommend a scanner for diagnostics on the XK8 and hopefully more than just a code read (eg transmission oil temp would be nice for fluid changes). I'm thinking in terms of something laptop or pda based that's not as expensive as the Autologic! Other suggestions would be welcome though.
It would also be handy if it worked on my 95 XJ 4.0 Sport too.
Has anyone any experience of these/ recommendations?
Many thanks
John

In the absence of replies, in case anyone else wants to know, the ELM327 USB interface for a laptop works with both the 1998 XK8 and the 1995 X300 4.0 Sport. It's about 70 pounds on Ebay. The XK8 socket is on the underscuttle by the door on a RHD. The software I've used with it (Scantool.net and Digimoto) don't give you transmission oil temp data though.

I know someone who's bought one and is very pleased with it.
Or there's this lot who will soon be releasing it with a full Jaguar diag capability.

Thanks Sharfrs2
I originally contacted Autoenginuity after following the discussion on Roadfly. They just sent a short reply saying my cars aren't catered for. Since then I gather they have produced a beta module and I must say the specs covered look incredible, although I suspect the features on the older models will be more limited. Judging by the cost of the other add on modules it won't be cheap but nowhere near as expensive as the Autologic, which is out of the range of enthusiasts.
