Hello everybody,
I hope somebody out there can me solve my problem.
A few weeks ago I fitted a new battery to my car.(2006 X150 CONV). Post fitting, I carried out the re-sets to the windows and parking brake. However, since fitting, each time I start up, within a minute or two I get 16 beeps, similar to the beeps when locking the car. There is no info. on the instrument cluster and everything seems normal. I have been into vehicle settings and security and I get the message, ALARM TRIGGERED BY VOLUMATIC SENSOR. Is there any way I can re-set the system or failing that isolate the component causing the problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Since the problem didn't exist prior to fitting a new battery, it might be worth disconnecting the battery, trying a hard rest (connecting both battery leads together briefly, whilst avoiding any contact with the battery terminals) and then reconnecting the battery leads. Equally, it may be that excessive sparking caused when the battery was changed may have damaged an electronic component, so be very careful.

The alarm system was designed to have two modes, volume sensing and perimeter sensing. However, I suspect changing from one to the other may require input from Jaguar's IDS system or similar to make any changes. Mike.

Hello Bert,
A good suggestion from Mike, if that doesn't work a series of posts on Pistonheads https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/top ... &t=1226925 suggest the sensors can fail - of which there are two.
Hopefully then a Jaguar friendly code reader should then be able to tell you which sensor has failed.
