Started OK. Changed seat to Memory position 1. Got in. Drove a bit. Wanted to make slight adjustment but nothing! Passenger side OK. Switched on and off but didnt recoved. ( So now Mrs Wells cant drive it!!) .
Any ideas ? Fuse? Connection Somewhere? No error messages.
Thanks
Steve

Re: Elecetric Seat not working Drivers side
Under each seat is an electronic module. They have been known to come loose and be damaged. Try checking to make sure the module and its connector are held securely and haven't been displaced. Mike.

Re: Elecetric Seat not working Drivers side
Further to Mike's post, the seat modules can also suffer from physical damage to the internal circuit board if the module comes loose and rattles around. The module box can easily be opened for inspection and usually any damage is repairable by anyone handy with a soldering iron.

in addition, if you're not sure if it is the module, they are interchangeable, so swap them over and see if works on other seat.

Re: Elecetric Seat not working Drivers side
Had a look but the first challenge is accessing the module. The ,seat is virtually just above the floor. Is it a matter of trying to prize all the covers away or even taking the seat out?

Re: Elecetric Seat not working Drivers side
Not sure if the X150 is same as X100, but in the case of the latter by lifting the seat to its highest position and moving it all the way back the module is accessible. Of course if the electrics are not working then yes may need to remove the seat, somehow.

John Dee at ToTheGarage has a video on how to do just that - but with an X100. I wouldn't have thought it would be too different. Might be worth a look

Had a look at the video. Did a bit more fettling.... But on my XK 150 even with seat back and up its maximum amount the control module is not visible. I cant even feel it. Still cant get hand in that far. Nothing obviously loose from what I can feel. Good news is the seat has resumed working. It looks like a seat out job if it does ever give up completely.John Dee at ToTheGarage has a video on how to do just that - but with an X100. I wouldn't have thought it would be too different. For info: Seat switches on XK8 are on the seat sides but on XK (150) are in the door.

Re: Elecetric Seat not working Drivers side
The basic issue sounds like it could have been a typical low voltage problem (cold start drain) and the seat module failing to communicate correctly as a result. The module is located on the underside of the seat but it's worth noting that the recommended access to it is by removing the seat. If a module fails, the seat motor can be powered directly from a 12V source by a fly lead hidden behind the seat valance. Mike.
