Dash lights sorted at last

Postby VinylFan » Fri Oct 19, 2018 6:31 pm

After a new starter motor (which was needed) and a new battery to solve the charging problem (which didnt solve it) and a new alternator which would hopefully then get rid of the dashboard lights (which didnt!) it was onto problem solve number 1 on the list

ABS module. yep , that was the one causing the trouble. No lights now. the price has gone up for repairing them but its joyous to finally look at a clear dash.

A lot of the codes are under the post of charging problem

many thanks for all who helped

Kind regards

Pat

Hi Pat,
Very good to hear your dash is back to normal :) .
Well done.
These cars are such a pleasure to drive but just one little light on the dash when it's not supposed to be there can spoil everything :x .
You can get back to enjoying your XK8 to the full now.
Take Care and enjoy.

Hi Andy

Many thanks. It's weird not seeing anything but great when it's fixed!

Took it for a long drive the night it was sorted and it was wonderful :D

Just off for a drive now as the sun is blazing and it's a lovely day so I'll take advantage before the weather that has been forecast arrives as it's a daily driver and a handful (but fun :D ) in the snow

Many thanks again

Kind regards

Si
