Side Lights Constantly On When Auto Charging

XKR 2002 convertible; vehicle has upgraded HID side & head lights.
Side-lights remain On when when using Auto Charger.
Any suggestions to turn S/lights off.
Is this a problem with the bulb life. Is there a procedure to stop this.

Looks a little odd when i enter the garage...two eyes under the cover !

I too used to run a 2002 (2003 MY) XK8 Convertible fitted with the HID headlamp option which I kept on charge with a CTEK charger. At no time did charging illuminate any lamps. Consequently, my first question has to be, where have you attached the battery charger leads? Mike.

Battery has a fixed terminal lead with push / clip connection supplied with the charger, fairly sure charger is connected correctly.

Can I guess and say that when you have 'upgraded HID side and head lights' you might mean LED side lights plus HID dipped beams?

I have LED side lights and they come on faintly if I unlock the car and even if I lock it again, the led side lights stay on for about 20 minutes. Same thing happens if I open/close the boot/trunk until the car gets to the right stage of going to sleep.

When you find the lights on, is it after more than 20 mins, or maybe you've unlocked the car? Or are they on when the car has been left untouched for an hour or two or overnight?

There's no doubt in my mind that X100s do have low level currents flowing through some of their circuits until the car is fully asleep after which it should just be some of the maintained circuits such as alarms and radio station memory that shouldn't, but could be at the root of this. Might be difficult to narrow down!
