It is one of the usual suspects and due to the breakdown of the internal battery in the sounder causing the drain. Hope it’s sorted for you.

If it stays sorted after disconnecting the sounder, I plan to disassemble it and see if I can fit new batteries to it. Then I can refit it.

Just a short update. 2 weeks on and all is well. Looks like the sounder was the culprit. Having recently read June's edition of Jaguar World I note that an owner of an X150 suffered a similar problem and that turned out to be the sounder as well. It is certainly worth starting there if you have similar issues - easy to disconnect and eliminate from your investigations (and doesn't affect normal alarm operation).
