Powerfold mirror problem

If anyone is still reading this - well done! If not, then what I am about to say is of no consequence for anyone but me!! . So - I did a hard reset - no change. Interestingly, I can hear a relay clicking on the drivers seat module for every alternate flick of the joystick (ignition on, toggle switch in middle position, wait 6 seconds between flicks), but no click heard from passenger seat module. So either that relay is stuck or it is not operating for some reason. That is contrary to what Astromorg suggested, so I'm a little puzzled now (no change there, then!). Maybe I will have to get both modules out.

I can plead only carelessness and/or senility because having read the above I've just been out and re-checked and I got the driver's and passenger seat modules the wrong way round in my earlier posts Sincere apologies for misleading you Mike

To re-state, now correctly, the drivers side seat module folds the mirrors, the passenger side unfolds them.

It does sound like a passenger seat module problem.

Haha! Thanks for confirming that, Astromorg. I'll be having a look - weather permitting - so not today!

Update - I discovered that actually, none of the passenger seat movement functions work now, except the headrest lowering when folding the seatback forwards. The 20A fuse is intact, so I have now (with some difficulty) removed the module. I can see some evidence of moisture-induced corrosion on the tracks at the very edge of the board, but none seem to be broken. I'll have a closer look tomorrow under a microscope. Don't suppose anyone has the circuit diagram for one of these modules? Incidentally - that cover is broken as well, so I will be ordering a second one!

Sorry I haven't got a circuit diagram, but here are some photos of repairs that I've garnered over the years that might help you decide how to play it. It's certainly not an uncommon problem.

Thanks Astromorg. I buzzed the thin tracks out at the board edge: All coming up open circuit, even though they don't look broken. I'll be repairing them at work tomorrow! How does that get corrosion damage though? Perhaps caused by very wet passengers!

You'll have to choose your passengers more carefully, in future! Mike.

Passenger side module repaired with a couple of wires and pcb lacquered to prevent moisture causing any more problems. Precautionary coating of lacquer on drivers side pcb - which was virtually undamaged and working perfectly. New lids both sides completed the repair.
