Spare sockets in boot

Good evening.
I'm gradually finding things in my 1997 XK8 convertible acquired earlier this year. The latest find are two sockets (unconnected to anything) which emerge from the wiring loom at the right hand side of the battery. The white one is large, and judging by it's case, clips into a mating housing. The small black one is difficult to make out. Both are flexible.

The one in the top photo is only used during the car's initial delivery. It's connected to a Transit Relay, a device fitted by Jaguar to allow the car to be driven, but isolating battery draining circuits when shut down unattended for long periods. The relay is removed before handing the car over to its first owner.

I can't make out any details from your other photo, but I imagine it's of the Trunk Accessory Connector; a source for an ignition switched supply, Purple/Brown wire, permanent battery supply, Brown/Light Green wire and Earth/Ground, Black wire. You might have to fit a standard relay into the Trunk Fuse Box to get the ignition switched supply if it's not there already. There's another socket with the same wiring colours that's taped up behind the dash panel on the left hand side of the glove box. You really need to remove the glove box to get at it easily.

Both battery supplies are fused at F17, 10A in the Driver's side dash panel fuse box. Both ignition switched supplies are fused at F11, 10A in the Trunk Fuse Box.

They come in handy when you want fit some additional electrical accessory and save you having to tap into other systems.

Thank you so much for your quick response and info. I'm thinking of fitting a set of 'behind the bumper' parking sensors, so that feed might come in handy. In the meantime I'll tuck them back where I found them.
