Alarm Sounder

My 1997 XK8 developed an intermittent fault with the Alarm Sounder going off without reason. My local Jaguar specialist said that the Alarm Sounder needs to be replaced. The fitted "Intelligent Sounder" is part number LJA2620AB but the garage has been unable to find one and there are none on EBay. Can anyone help me find one or propose an alternative sloution. Many Jaguar alarm sounders have a small rechargeable battery inside the casing and it is not unknown for the failure of the internal battery to cause faults like spurious alarm soundings. Alarm battery failure can also cause a higher than normal drain on the main car battery (which constantly recharges the alarm battery) and can give rise to yet more issues like the apparent failure of the main car battery to hold its charge. Consequently, if you can manage to open the alarm sounder casing, replace the battery and reseal the casing, you might solve the problem for a relatively small cost. If the sounder has already been condemned you would have little to lose by trying. Alternatively, second hand sounders can be sourced from the usual Jaguar breakers, many of which advertise in the Enthusiast magazine. Mike.

Thanks for your reply, replacing the batteries may be worth trying as a last resort. A used one from a breakers may not last long.
I would prefer to replace the unit with a new one if anyone knows where I can get one.
As well as the fitted LJA2620AB I am told that a LJB2620AA is also suitable.

Thanks for finding this, it's a good start.
I hope to find a UK supplier so will hold out a bit longer.
It's dissapointing that Jaguar no longer stock this part.
it does not bode well for keeping more modern Jaguars as the future classics.
Does anyone else know where I can find this part?

I managed to get one from a Jaguar breaker but it did not work so I'm still looking if anyone can help?
