Washer fluid level detector failure

I have experienced a failure of the washer level detector in my 2003 XKR 4.2.

The washer pump is fine but the wipers do not activate because the level detector has failed and it thinks the water level is low.

Do I have to change the whole windscreen washer bottle assembly or can I just change the level detector ? Anybody know ?

I've just replaced the washer pump on my X300 (same part number as on the XK range) and noticed the level indicator plugged into the washer bottle nearby. Hence, without pulling the bumper off my XK for confirmation, I imagine the XK will have the same arrangement and the level indicator should be replaceable as a separate part. To be 100% sure, try searching David Manners' site for the part. Mike.

Couldn't find the part at David Manners - I will remove the pump and sensor and have a look - I have the service CD but it does not refer to separate components, just a single unit replacement - a case of modern modular 'mechanics' I think.
