In Car Phone

I have just acquired a 52 plate XKR convertible and would like to fit a hands-free phone. Does anybody know what sort of phone was fitted by Jaguar for this model. Secondly, would the wiring and control module already be fitted ?

My 52 plate 8 is wired to take the Nokia 6310.

Not sure if the wiring is there anyway, just in case.

I think there's a up to date Blue tooth kit available. But I'm happy with the original one in mine, it's a beige colour and suits the interior perfectly.

My 52 plate convertible has a standard Jaguar phone. It's a corded version (often seen for sale on eBay) which lives inside the centre console lidded box and works handsfree through the car's speakers. I believe that you will need an interface unit to retrofit one to work this way. The phone takes a standard sim card and despite warnings about only using the original type of sim, my phone has all the functionality I would expect to find when making and receiving calls on the move. As with any technology time moves on...as do peoples phones.

So well worth investing in a universal handsfree that can cope with when you change your phone.

I use a parrot CK3100 and it's never had a problem with any of my bluetooth phones. there are later variants out there but the wiring schematics are readily available on a couple of roadfly forums.

Supply (from Ebay) and fit from my local auto electrican was under £150 3 years ago.
