Northern day at Newby Hall

Postby mike020150 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:07 am

:D Well thank goodness the rain held off until today (Monday) and we managed a dry event, the first for a few years even if it was cooler than it has been for the past fortnight or thereabouts.

It was great to see a super turnout of XK8s in all their variations and even better to meet everyone who came to chat on the forum stand. Roll on more of the same! Mike.

Yes, Mike it was a good one.

Good to see Nik although didn`t have a chance to have a chat.

A long day for Michael Clifton and I. Left Fareham in Hampshire at 2am, drove up, did the business and drove back again getting lost along the way.
Back at Base Camp at 11pm last night. Shattered after a long trip.

Great to see so many old friends and some new faces. Rob Jenner on fine form after Julie ironed some of the creases out.

Terrific display of unusual cars outside the entrance to Newby Hall.

Southern Day will be rather easier for me. Only an hours run. That will be much easier!

Definately a good one.

Mike.

Yes, great day out, really enjoyed it, but no joy in turning my Dad into a Jaguar owner, he's sticking with his Lexus :? :?

Looking forward to the next one. Going to get there early doors to try and get my car to mingle with all of yours!

Thanks for the warm welcome, much appreciated,

kindest regards

Chris

A really enjoyable day :D and as Mike said: a great variety of XKs. I also enjoyed seeing all the other fabulous looking Jaguar models . . . ooh and quite a few familiar faces 8)

Nice to meet you Chris, I am glad you were able to make it and enjoy it.
Just give your Dad a few weeks and a few runs in your great looking XKR and then - turn him over to a few of us, result: 'You give us your Dad for a few days and we will give you back a convert' . Wouldn't be the first time  :D

Yes, me too, i'm just sorry for not getting there on time and having more time to chat and get to know you all. But hey, that's what the next Jaguar Day will be for though, right ? :D

I did have to drag him away from the "For Sale" section of the show a few times, so we shall see what the future holds........

Regards,

Chris
