Whilst considering buying and XKR Coupe I looked at the valuations section of the forum and was shocked to see the values quoted. I would imagine that these are a lot of years out of date and wonder whether anybody can point me at a more up to date set of valuations.
Thanks
Stuart

At the moment there's a real shortage of good cars in the trade and prices for good examples of these models over the past 12 months have been higher than traditionally would have been the case. Consequently, you may have been surprised by the values quoted. It is, of course, possible to pay either more or less for any given model in the guide. It is only a guide. Mileage and condition can have a dramatic effect on prices and particularly for the older models, there can be a wide spread of values. However, these are expensive cars to repair so in the long run, it usually pays to buy on condition rather than price. Mike.

Mike,
Thanks for this. After reading your message I went to the buying button above to have another look at the price guide and this was a different listing to what I saw previously. That list quoted a value of £14000 for a '97 XK8. Clearly that can't be right and, in fact, the listing arrived at from the buying button above gives us a £5000 value.
It appears that if you approach the valuations from the Model Forums button on the club home page then this leads you to a different listing than if you approach it from the bulletin board.
Something needs fixing by the look of it.
Thought it might be a good time to buy a nice coupe but perhaps I'll wait.
Regards
Stuart
