was involved in a roll over in a coupe and the cage stayed in tact if i had been in a convertable what if any thing would have helped preserve my well being

Glad you survived the roll. The convertibles have strengthened shells to restore some of the lost strength and compensate for the loss of a roof. That said, I wouldn't fancy rolling either version! Mike.
