Does anyone have any experience of the Gendan enhanced diagnostic software for Jaguars. Costs about £390, laptop based and is meant to give access to all systems, not just engine management. Wondering if it is any good.
Thanks

The Genden is predominently for cars with OBDII complaince/connection.
I believe that the XK series only became complaint in Europe from 2002 onwards. Prior to that they were merely OBDI so if you have an older car you'll not be able to gain all of the fu nctionality of the Genden product.
Annoying especially since all US XK's from launch onwards were OBDII
If I've made an error I'm sure someone else will correct.

Sounds spot on to me! It would be helpful to know if anyone has tried the Gendan products and what they got from them. Mike.

I remember last year there was a group special buy on the XK8/R Roadfly forum with a purchase price of a mere $299 USD delivered (when the $:£ ratio was 2:1) so an extremely good buy.
At that time Genden were releasing more specific Jaguar updates and all of the purchasers were very happy indeed.
Perhaps this forum and the club needs to get into the group purchase state of mind?

Try suggesting a purchase to Annie Jenkins who looks after JEC tools. Mike.

Mike, I suggest that the moderator for this forum category raises Anne Jenkins and points her towards this thread.

I had a little more info from Gendan here's what they said:
"The Jaguar-enhanced package covers all modules on the 4 model types (XJ, XK, X-Type and S-Type) from 1998 onwards - petrol and diesel. This includes modules such as airbag, ABS, engine, instruments etc. Features include fault code reading/clearing, live data streaming and actuator testing.
More details and some package screenshots are online here:

For £390 it sounds like it covers what Autologic does for £8000. You would also need to by and ELM327 interface but they aren't expensive. So I'm seriously considering this I have to say.

It looks like a real good deal! Does anyone know at what VIN No. the XK8 became OBD11 compliant. Mine seems to be on the change over for most things, but up to now I have been lucky and am on the right side of the change overs!!!
