Creaking Armrest

Hi All,

This is driving me mad!

I have the centre armrest with the cup-holders, and the whole thing creaks all the time you rest your arm on it. It gets worse when there are two of you in the car, and two arms are leaning on it.

I've had the whole thing apart, and can't see any reason why (other than the fact it's comprised of plastic!) - any suggestions gratefully received!

Regards,

Paul

Jaguar dealers use a liquid lubricant (possibly a silicone material) to cure trim squeaks when all else fails. If you check out the bulletin board messages you will see that other XK8 owners have used similar preparations for squeaking windows. Mike.

Or of course don't lean on it! :)

Mine creaks and I found that was the easiest solution.

Lol... News just in... Keeping your XK8 on the drive and walking to work dramatically increases MPG....

Naaah easiest way of increasing MPG is converting it to LPG (like mine) :D

£24 fill up of 60 litres can take me 330 miles and to travel the same distance on unleaded at £1.03 works out at over 64 MPG

And yes I do have an answer for everything :P

But back to the armrest problem I am quite slim (30" waist) so hardly fill the seat (or at least sit right back in it) and reaching the rest is somewhat of a stretch.

So another alternative is to loose some weight and your car will go faster too...lol
