Just received my renewal notice for insurance for my 2010 5L XKR. Fully comp. Driving restricted to my wife and myself. Voluntary AD excess of £250 and a compulsory xs of £500. Protected NCD for the life of the policy. Nett ANNUAL premium of £166.01. Anybody beat that? :D

Regards

Ian.

That's great !
Is that on full no claims ? Or a classic insurance?

It's not a classic policy and its not on a restricted mileage basis either. The policy notes a normal annual mileage of between 5001 to 6000 miles, but its not restricted to that. Full ncd, protected for the life of the policy.
Its ESURE, the on line insurer.
My wife had her V70 with them and had a bump (minor) last year. All repaired at the main dealers with a car supplied while in the bodyshop. Very efficient, and no hassle.

Worth a quote!

Ian.

Just tried ESure and they want £380 for my 2006 X350. Still better of with Peter James

I have also tried Esure.... full comp/full no claim/ 2002 XK8, £248....and that's without legal insurance and protected no claims. :(

No agreed value, no recovery and they also have this in their quote;

You must tell us about any alteration to your car from the manufacturer's standard specification including optional extras (e.g. parking sensors, air conditioning). If you do not tell us about all alterations made this may result in additional terms being applied to your policy, your claim being rejected or reduced or your policy being declared null and void.
Click here for our definition of modification

So, does that mean I have to find out exactly what is a "standard" offering back in 2002, work out if my parking sensors are standard or optional? Air conditioning ! What if my stereo has been upgraded to the Premium System...the tyres changed from original issue

Oh, look, there is a hyperlink to the "definition of modifications" and guess what... IT DOESN'T WORK ! Why dont these website owners check their fracking links?

No, sorry, don't understand how your quote is so low, Peter James still THE best for me, too :!:

EDIT; Just run a quote for me on a 5 litre XKR and the system won't even quote, online, for a specified registration or a "blank" reg model only quote. :?

It's often said that finding a good deal on insurance is not when you buy it but when you claim on it.

Personally I would stick to one of the club recommended schemes

Fair comment, but, we have already had experience of their claims service. No problem at all. I must admit, when I phoned for the quote for the XKR, it had to be 'ref to underwriters' but, at £166, no complaints from me. I could not get close to that price with anyone else.

It's really quite an amazing quote, and a renewal at that which is when we usually get stiched :( particularly as there is an accident claim against it too !!!
