Thank you for the YouTube link, that is exactly my issue, I am having the tracking done next week and fault codes read then I will take the lock out to identify the actual part number on the lock as my car is a late X100 and I don’t know if the locks changed over time.
I very much appreciate everyone’s advice on this .

The video on YouTube was brilliant and as a result I have replaced the latch on my XK and successfully sorted the problem, so thank you for your help and advice once again.
