I've been looking at X-150s to replace my current X-100 and have noticed that when, for instance, the window control buttons or steering wheel control button surrounds (eg for cruise control) have the soft touch finish (which I suspect might be rubberised) they appear to have perished and become annoyingly sticky to the touch. Is there any quick fix for this short of replacing them?

Some isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud and rub gently over them. Available easily online.

Thanks Andy. We have a bottle of that and I'll give it a try.

You do have to be quite patient, and not too heavy handed, but it does work.

Patience and calm....I'm looking looking forward to it already!

My 2004 XKR suffers similar probs during winter months when she seldom ventures out from her dry warm garage. Today I lifted the bonnet to check for any condensation and noticed the under-bonnet sound-proof lining was going mouldy. I decided to spray the lining with wet-and-forget, a product I mainly use on pathways to combat slime. Jury is out for a couple of weeks, will report back.
XKR 2004 Coupe' in BRG, Ivory leather and traditional Jaguar walnut dash. Super bodily condition and window seals recently attended. Mechanically work completed with front sub-frame mounts and ball joints, suspension overhaul, AC renewal.

That's interesting Dave. I look forward to reading the outcome. If it doesn't work on your XKR I may at least try it on our driveway!
