CD changer

Postby Phil 18 » Tue Feb 28, 2017 7:24 pm

I had a problem with my CD, constantly jumping out of play whist in track and then generally shutting down with no play at all. I took the changer out and sent it to a company and they identified the problem to be Laser and the servo ic circuit. They will be those amongst you I can hear saying what is a servo ic circuit. The simple answer is that I do not have a clue either. Anyway this was proven to be the fault and I have received back and installed back into the car tonight and it is fully working again. Now I am speaking on personal experience but can fully recommend this company who have kept me up to date of the progress and an excellent service throughout. If anybody requires this type of this as I have said I can fully recommend them and their details are Car Audio Medics, The Repair workshop, 228 Pratling Street, Aylesford Kent ME20 7DG Telephoe 01622 717091 email info@caraudiomedics.co.uk.

Ps for a system that is twelve years old, they have repaired it to a good standard as when it was new.

Phil - that sounds to me like a clear admission of liability! I think you know where to forward the repair bill to!!

Servo ic circuit is the bit that keeps the scanning laser/receiver lined up with the track as the cd spins and wobbles.

Would you mind telling us how much he charged inc p&p etc?

I repaired mine myself and it would be good to know a back up.
